Nearly a year after President Biden withdrew Chipman’s nomination, he’s found a way. “There’s no way I could define an assault weapon,” Chipman finally said. The gun control lobbyist nominated by President Joe Biden to become the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) just couldn’t bring himself to come up with one.
